Right, Cheltenham Festival is coming up and I am putting together my each way portfolio for the week. Which bookmakers are you all using for the Festival this year? I need Best Odds Guaranteed, generous place terms and reliable in-play. Currently split between Betfair Exchange for best prices and Ladbrokes for BOG.

Ante-post betting on Cheltenham Festival races from October onwards can offer genuine value. The market shifts significantly as Festival approaches and stable money comes in. Taking early prices on unexposed novices from top yards can be rewarding.

Laying horses on Betfair Exchange is a completely different discipline to backing them. On a race like the Grand National where short priced favourites frequently fail to finish, laying the favourite at small odds can be a consistent strategy. Worth learning if you are serious about racing.

The Tote can offer exceptional value on big race days when pool sizes are large. Grand National and Cheltenham Gold Cup pools are massive — sometimes the Tote SP significantly beats fixed odds. Worth having a Tote account alongside your regular bookmakers.

For Cheltenham I use Betfair Exchange for the best prices on races I am confident about, and Ladbrokes for BOG on the races where I want each way cover. Best of both worlds. William Hill extending to 4 places on qualifying races is also worth keeping in the portfolio.
