Each way betting maths question. Horse Racing is offering 1/4 odds 3 places on a 16 runner handicap. The horse I want is available at 10/1. I am putting 20 pounds each way so 40 pounds total stake. Can someone confirm my maths — win returns 220 pounds, place returns 60 pounds? Or am I calculating the place part wrong?

For the Grand National specifically, shop around for the most generous place terms. Most major bookmakers extend to 5 places for the National. The difference between 4 and 5 places on a 40 runner field is significant — your 10/1 shot finishing 5th is worth real money.
